Starcraft’s 2’s co-op was a similar step towards ‘pve replayability’ on a single-game layer. Having an upper ‘strategy’ layer is not an unheard of addition to strategy games, and arguably that’s all that a ‘main’ campaign is- a singular, hand-crafted series of missions that tell a story. Mind, the original envisioning of the idea is one where this is just ‘a way of playing stormgate’, likely accessible under the ‘campaign’ wing of the selection menu. Unfortunately the gameplay is shit.There has been a lot of suggestions on here for a while, but another i’d like to add to the pyre that ties into two of the main ‘pillars’ according to Monk (Co-Operative and Campaign)- A long-form, repeatable war-table strategy layer that can connect a series of stormgate matches in a coherent narrative, preferably with a campaign-style spin. The overall feel and presentation of it is pretty close to what I want. Lots of weapons, armor, and gadgets to use in battleĪlthough it's not RTwP, I remember having high hopes for Satellite Reign.
